BUBBLE TRAPS
What happens when nature is caught between chaos and tranquility? Corals, the silent sentinels of the ocean, embody both beauty and fragility. Typically cradled by the ebb and flow of the sea, they exist in a delicate balance with their aquatic surroundings. But what if we disrupt that harmony? Bubble Traps reimagines this underwater world, where corals are no longer submerged in water but instead float in an ethereal space, with bubbles as their only connection to fluidity.

A surreal reimagining of underwater ecosystems. This project began with a fascination for the natural order of ocean life and how human interventions often introduce chaos into fragile ecosystems. Using 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting, I set out to explore this disruption—creating a visual narrative where corals, suspended in time and space, become ensnared in bubbles. These bubbles, simultaneously protectors and distorters, encapsulate corals, raising questions about how we engage with the delicate environments around us.
Bubble Traps aims to evoke a sense of wonder and reflection for those who care deeply about nature, conservation, and art. By shifting the familiar narrative of corals, this work supports environmental advocates, artists, and storytellers in imagining new ways to discuss the balance between preservation and human impact. It’s a visual ode to the tension between destruction and beauty, chaos and calm—a reminder of our responsibility to protect the fragile ecosystems we may not always see.
